  • Minister of Resettlement and Disaster Relief Services
  • Minister for Rehabilitation and District Development

During his tenures, he was highly involved in the state-sponsored resettlement of internally displaced persons (IDPs) in the Northern Province following the end of the Sri Lankan Civil War.
